Everyone is posting about their great 4th of July weekends. I thought I would do the same. We did nothing. It was nice. 2 1/2 weeks ago, we were freezing and the original plan was to go to visit my brother and his family for the weekend. Plans changed and so to be honest, the 4th blindsided me.
In our community, the city fireworks are held on the 3rd and the surrounding communities do theirs others days of that week. Typically in the past, we do the Hyrum fireworks on the 2nd, Logan fireworks on the 3rd and are rafting on the 4th. This year on the 2nd, I was in bed at 9, the 3rd we just had a little fire in the backyard, roasted marshmallows and watched the Logan fireworks from our patio and the 4th, I had to work.
I've never been huge on fireworks myself, it's all about the socialism to me. But this year the thought of camping out for a good spot for 4 hours pre fireworks in the sun, watching a 1/2 hour show then fighting traffic for an hour to get home, just didn't interest me in the slightest. We did our own thing and it was nice, laidback and unstressful.
