It's that time again!!!

"Girl Scout Cookies are an icon of American culture." I have to say I am a pure sucker when it comes to Girl Scout Cookies (GSC). I was once a brownie, which equivelent to a cub or wolf in the Boy Scouts. I'm pretty sure that is where I was introduced to the wonderful taste of a Samoa and the Thin Mints.

Surprisingly, the Girl Scouts (GS) aren't a big program in the state of Utah. Living in our old house, we never had the pleasure of the GS knocking on our door in February. I have to say I would look forward to seeing them, but never did, so I would have to make my purchase of the regular 2 boxes of Samoa's and 1 box Thin Mints at the local grocery store. BUT, I do most of my shopping at Walmart and since they don't sell them outside Walmart, most years I did not get to indulge.

This weekend I am in Boise visiting my father and ran an errand to the local Albertson's. There they were: A table with the boxes lined up. Now, I typically don't carry cash with me, so I was out of luck. BUT, then I remembered I had my other debit card and there was a Wells Fargo across the street. So yes, I went out of my way to withdrawl cash and came back to purchase my favorites.

I got back to the car and could not get the package open fast enough. And by the time I got back to my father's house, I had downed 4 cookies. And it gets worse. So my dad had one, and Spencer probably had 4, and I ate the other 5. Yes, I successfully woofed down 2/3s a package of GSC. They were so good. Crunchy, carmelly, and the bit of chocolate. Now I have a tummy ache. I'm sitting here blogging, trying to waste some time before heading to bed. Because if I go to bed with a tummy ache, it gets worse through the night and I am down right sick in the morning.

I highly recommend the spluge on the GSC. Yes, it's the most expensive cookies for the quantity you get, but "They’re (GSC) also the backbone of the Girl Scout Cookie Program, the leading entrepreneurial program for girls." Help support your community, buy a box or two or three in my case of Girl Scout Cookies.
